SITEREVIEW SUPPORT
Everything you need to set up SiteReview, configure Pro, and ship your first audit.
GETTING STARTED
Download SiteReview from WordPress.org, or search “SiteReview” in Plugins → Add New from your WordPress dashboard. Install and activate. SiteReview blocks network activation on multisite — it’s a per-site tool.
The Performance section uses Google PageSpeed Insights. On first launch, an onboarding modal walks you through getting a free PSI key (Cloud Console → enable PSI API → create credentials → copy key). One key, one minute. The key is stored encrypted using your AUTH_KEY salt.
Click “New Scan,” pick the homepage plus up to 5 additional Pages from the WP multi-select, optionally exclude sections, and start. Sections run in parallel; total scan time is typically 5–15 minutes.
When the scan completes, copy the public report URL to send to the client, or click Download to save a single-file HTML (self-contained — fonts, CSS, JS, images all inlined). Email the URL or attach the file.
In the in-admin report viewer with Pro active, every text element is editable. Edits save to the report data and immediately re-render the static HTML at the public URL. Use it to tighten the AI’s narrative or add agency-specific context before sending.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
| Requirement | Minimum |
|---|---|
| WordPress | 6.4+ |
| PHP | 8.1+ |
| Browser | Any modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge — recent versions) |
| Server | Any standard WordPress hosting environment with Action Scheduler-compatible background processing |
| Cron | Either WP-Cron or a real cron triggering wp-cron.php (a synchronous fallback exists for sites where cron is broken) |
| Outbound HTTP | Must reach googleapis.com (PSI), observatory.mozilla.org, sitecheck.sucuri.net, rdap.org, dns.google |
| Outbound HTTP (Pro) | Pro tier additionally requires reaching api.steadypress.ai for AI narrative and license activation |
| Free PSI API key | Free SiteReview requires a Google PageSpeed Insights API key (no charge, ~1 minute to get one) |
| Multisite | Not supported in v1 — network activation is blocked |
SiteReview runs entirely in the WordPress admin. The accessibility scan executes client-side in a hidden iframe within the admin tab; all other sections run server-side via Action Scheduler. No frontend code is loaded on visitor-facing pages, no database queries run on visitor requests.
PRO CONFIGURATION
After purchase, you receive a license key by email. Go to SiteReview → Settings → License, enter your key, click Activate. Your credit balance (1 / 10 / 50 depending on tier) appears in the plugin and in your account portal. Credits are consumed when a report is generated. Re-running a scan on the same domain within 30 days is free.
In SiteReview → Settings → White-Label, upload a logo (PNG or SVG), set your agency name, an optional tagline, a primary color (hex), and an accent color. WCAG contrast warnings surface inline but never block save — the choice is yours. The settings preview card shows exactly how the report will look before you ship.
In SiteReview → Settings → AI, choose between “Direct” (concise, no hedging), “Consultative” (warmer, more explanatory), and “Technical” (more developer-vocabulary, fewer plain-language analogies). The tone applies to executive summary, recommendations, and per-section narrative across every Pro scan.
In the report viewer, click “Rotate URL.” A new public URL token is generated, the static HTML is re-rendered to the new location, and the old URL stops working immediately. Use this to revoke external access after sending, or if a URL has been forwarded too widely.
