INVENTORY
Create a Home, then add an item or review an import. Homes are separate places with their own records and organization choices. You can add and manage Homes in Settings & backups.
Open Inventory and choose Locations or Categories. All shows the full list for the selected Home. Open an item to edit its fields directly. Save appears after you change a field. Unsaved item edits stay in a draft while you browse.
Select an attachment thumbnail to open its preview inside Hearth. Use the viewer controls to move between attachments and adjust the view. Hearth stores managed copies; the original files you selected remain separate.
IMPORTS, EXPORTS, AND REPORTS
Use Import Home Inventory (.hi3), select the file, and review the analysis and warnings. Import creates a separate Hearth Home alongside your existing records. The source remains unchanged.
CSV import lets you choose the separator, map columns, and review valid and skipped rows before saving. CSV export creates a portable table of item records. Attachments are not part of a CSV file.
Run reports from the Reports section and preview or export a PDF. A complete Hearth backup includes every Home and its managed attachments. Keep an exported backup on another drive before making major changes.
ICLOUD AND RECOVERY
Optional sync uses the Apple Account already signed in to iCloud on your device. Check sync status in Settings & backups, confirm that your devices use the intended Apple Account, and review reported conflicts before continuing. Local records remain available when you are offline.
Change history lists saved changes and the Undo actions available for them. If a newer change affects the same record, undo that change first. Hearth keeps the latest changed state for each of the newest 30 dates; days without changes do not create another dated backup.
On Mac, open Settings & backups → iCloud sync → Remove Hearth data from iCloud. On iPhone or iPad, open Settings & backups → iCloud → Erase Hearth data from iCloud. Review and confirm the permanent removal.
Hearth first verifies a recovery archive of the local library and, when present, the current cloud library with its referenced attachments. Unused cloud attachments are deleted and are not included in those archives. A failed removal reports that it was not confirmed and leaves sync off.
Your local library, local history, dated backups, recovery archives, other devices’ local copies, and independently exported files remain. Update Hearth on every device and turn off sync in older copies first; older versions can upload retained records again. Updated versions pause after detecting removal.
Restoring an archive restores local data. It does not by itself recreate the cloud library. Reconnecting explicitly uploads retained local Homes and attachments again.
CONTACT SUPPORT
Email [email protected]. Include your Hearth version, device and operating-system version, the steps you took, what you expected, what happened, and the exact wording of any message.
A small example or screenshot without personal records is often enough. Do not send your inventory, receipts, recovery archives, Apple Account credentials, or passwords unless you make a separate, informed choice to share a specific file.
